We keep this simple. CLIMeter collects only what it needs to run the service. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with third parties except where required to operate (e.g. Stripe for billing).
What we collect
- •Account info — your email and password (hashed) when you sign up.
- •Usage events — tool call counts, timestamps, durations, and any metadata you choose to attach.
- •Billing info — handled entirely by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID, not card numbers.
- •API keys — cryptographic tokens we generate for you. Stored hashed, never in plaintext after creation.
- •Log data — standard server logs (IP addresses, request paths) retained for 30 days for debugging.
How we use it
- •Operate the metering and billing service.
- •Send you transactional emails (invoices, usage alerts, API key notifications). No marketing emails unless you opt in.
- •Detect abuse and enforce rate limits.
- •Improve the product — aggregated, anonymised usage patterns only.
Data retention
- •Usage events are kept for 12 months, then deleted.
- •Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure (except where required by law for billing records).
- •You can request an export or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us.
