Terms of Service

The service

CLIMeter provides metering, billing, and marketplace infrastructure for CLI tools. We give you an SDK, a dashboard, and an API. You own your tools and your data.

We aim for 99.9% uptime but make no guarantees. We'll notify you of planned maintenance and do our best to resolve incidents fast. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime.

Payments

• •Free tier — up to $100 in monthly billings at no cost. No credit card required to start.
• •Platform fee — CLIMeter takes a 4% fee on all revenue processed through the platform. After Stripe processing fees (~2.9% + $0.30/invoice), the remainder is paid out to tool builders via Stripe Connect.
• •Payouts — issued monthly on the 1st, minimum $10. Stripe's standard transfer times apply (typically 2–7 business days).
• •Disputes — if you believe you were charged incorrectly, contact us within 30 days. We'll review and refund if warranted.
• •Taxes — you are responsible for any applicable taxes on your earnings. We provide records; we don't withhold.

Prohibited use

You may not use CLIMeter to:

• •Build or distribute tools that facilitate illegal activity, fraud, or harm.
• •Abuse the metering API to generate fake events or inflate usage counts.
• •Reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform in ways inconsistent with its intended use.
• •Share API keys publicly or allow unauthorised access to your account.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

Termination

• •You can close your account at any time from the dashboard. Pending payouts will be settled within 30 days.
• •We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity.
• •On termination, your data is retained for 30 days (for dispute resolution), then deleted.
